Today I ate a sandwich from Red Apron Butcher in Fairfax that was among one of the best, messiest sandwiches I’ve had in a very long time. It was called the Beef and Cheddar. In essence, it was infinite roast beef on a small bun with mayo and some divine form of “gourmet” cheese whiz. While I was leaving the parking garage and chowing down on my lunch, I had a Carrie Bradshaw moment and couldn’t help but wonder…is every restaurant in Mosaic this good?
Since I have eaten at several of these restaurants over the past few years, I realized I was mostly able to answer that question without a ton of research. True Food, check. Delicious. Brine? Sure, yum. Cava? Duh. B Side? right on. Even the popcorn at the movie theater is an experience for discerning taste buds. But when I started thinking about all the restaurants I haven’t tried, I decided right then and there, I’m going to tackle all of these flavor venues in the next 12 months. It’s a daring objective, but I believe in myself.
Maybe it’s been awhile since you’ve made it to Mosaic or maybe you’ve never been. Well, a long weekend is upon you and there are two great reasons to head to this restaurant capital of…Fairfax!
• Take the kids to CARTOONS AND COFFEE at 9am tomorrow morning. Cartoons can be screened all morning while you sip on coffee and breakfast treats. It sounds pretty perfect for a cool early September morning.
• On Sunday, the FARMERS MARKET at 9am will showcase dozens of delicious vendors from produce to meats to baked goods and WINE!!
Happy Labor Day weekend! Everyone at Dwellus hopes you get to kick back, enjoy 3 days of doing things you love with the people you love, and that when the alarm clock goes off on Tuesday morning you’re ready to tackle another week.
