Folklife Festival Comes to DC Metro Area Homes

Folksy festival near DC Metro Area homesThe Smithsonian Folklife Festival is an event that people living in DC Metro Area homes look forward to every year. The themes this year are Hungarian Heritage: Roots to Revival; One World, Many Voices:  Endangered Languages and Cultural Heritage; and Will to Adorn: African American Identity and the Aesthetics of Dress. The Folklife Festival will run from June 26th through 30th and July 3rd through 7th and will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Admission is free!

If you live in the DC Metro Area, you know that the Folklife Festival takes place during the hottest time of the summer. Be sure to bring plenty of water and take a break from the heat to explore the Smithsonian Museum. Kitchens in DC Area Metro homes get the day off – just get lunch or dinner at the Festival. Your taste buds can get in on the cultural experience, too!

There’s something for everyone in DC Metro Area homes. Beautiful dance and music performances take place morning and evening.
