Since you live in the DC Metro area, you’re close to many of the nation’s war memorials. That means that it’s easy for you to visit one of the many Memorial Day celebrations taking place close to your DC Metro area home. Bring your friends and family who live in the DC Metro area to the 2013 National Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27th at 2 p.m. The parade begins at the corner of Constitution Avenue and 7th Street, NW, then proceeds down Constitution Avenue, passing the White House, and ends at 17th Street.
The parade is sponsored by the World War II Veterans Committee. It’s an annual celebration and remembrance of those who have died serving our country. Come celebrate fallen warriors near your DC Metro area home with patriotic marching bands, veterans units from all 50 states, floats, and balloons. This year the event will include musicians and celebrity veterans and military supporters, including Pat Sajak, Gary Sinise, Joe Mantegna, and Miss America.
Join the parade close to DC metro area homes in remembering the men and women who have died defending freedom. For more information, visit the National Memorial Day Parade website online.
